Austin is an experienced attorney, ready to take on the problems facing House District 96.

Meet Austin Reams, running for House District 96

Austin Reams was born in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and grew up in Oklahoma City, Edmond, Ada, and Durant. His great-grandparents ran in the Oklahoma land run in Alfalfa County, staking wheat farms passed down for generations.

He earned a Bachelor of Arts from Oklahoma State University in Russian Language and Literature, and attended graduate language studies in Moscow, Russia. Upon returning to the U.S., Austin taught Russian Language and Algebra at John Marshall High School in Oklahoma City.

He continued his graduate studies at Boston University, completing a master’s degree in International Relations, and thereafter worked as a political analyst and program administrator on collaborative nuclear non-proliferation programs between Russian and American scientists at Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico.

While completing his law degree at Oklahoma City University School of Law, Austin worked at a consultant to the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna, Austria.

Graduating from law school with honors, Austin passed the California Bar Examination, sat separately for the Oklahoma Bar Exam, and is also licensed to practice law in Texas and Missouri. He started his legal career as a judicial clerk, preparing law and motion memoranda and briefing judges on findings, at the Superior Court of Santa Clara County in San Jose, California.

For 25 years, Austin Reams has represented many individuals and businesses, practicing law in several civil disciplines. After embarking on a solo practice in 2012, Reams Law was founded. 

Austin is married to Ling-Chu Lin, who is also an attorney. They live in Edmond, Oklahoma, with their twin daughters, who attend Edmond Santa Fe High School.
